Ketu in Vedic Astrology: The Planet of Spiritual Liberation

    Who is Ketu?

In Vedic astrology, Ketu is the South Node of the Moon. It is a shadow planet, existing only as a mathematical point of intersection. While Rahu (the North Node) represents insatiable worldly desire and obsession, Ketu represents detachment, spiritual liberation (Moksha), and the past.

The Meaning of Ketu in Your Chart

Wherever Ketu is placed in your Kundali (Birth Chart) is the area of life where you feel a sense of 'been there, done that'. It represents your past life expertise. Because your soul has already mastered this area, Ketu forces you to detach from it in this life.

    • Ketu in the 2nd House: Detachment from accumulated wealth. You may easily make money but have no desire to hoard it.
    • Ketu in the 7th House: Detachment from marriage or partnerships. You may seek a deeply spiritual, unconventional relationship rather than a traditional marriage.
    • Ketu in the 10th House: Detachment from career status. You may walk away from a highly successful corporate job to seek deeper meaning.

    The Gifts of Ketu

While Ketu can bring sudden losses and isolation, these are merely catalysts for spiritual awakening. Ketu bestows incredible intuition, psychic abilities, and a deep understanding of the occult and spirituality.

    Remedies for a Difficult Ketu

If Ketu is causing confusion or unwanted isolation, try these remedies:

    • Worship Lord Ganesha. He is the ruling deity of Ketu and helps remove obstacles.
    • Feed stray dogs daily. Dogs are highly intuitive and spiritually connected to Ketu.
    • Donate warm blankets or flags to a temple.
